New Beginnings

The intention of formally announcing Living Money Coaching to the world was to happen in this new year of new beginnings. Yet, as the month of January came with great excitement of a new president, hosting my first paid Living Money coaching gig and the launch of the business website, I was faced with something that would take me down another path in life.

The "something" was breast cancer.

I have accepted this challenge, like many of the other challenges I have had in my life, with courage, hope and perseverance.

One of the first things that I relied on were my skills I learned around my money. It was none other than: TAKE ACTION. This I did. It became clear to me as I dived into the world of cancer and all its terminology that medical expenses became part of the playing field. As I have shared with many of my money clients when pursuing services, make sure you are clear on the cost of services up front.

There I was, in an ever decreasing state of fear and feeling humbled, with one of those less than desirable hospital gowns on in a cold doctor's room, and the doctor blabbering on about all the tests they were going to take.

I said, in my best consumer voice, "And how much is that test going to cost?" and "Is this something my insurance will cover?" and "Please contact my insurance before administering this test!" - - all the time being so grateful for all the skills I have learned in dealing with money. I also realized how grateful I am for the excellent health insurance I have when many do not.

This health challenge has only deepened my passion for inspiring others and passing on money wisdom. So, as I end this day, I move to the next hopeful that I will soon be greeting a roomful of people willing and wanting to discover and share what their relationship with money means to them.

Peace.
